Members & Board
Our members are people who contribute their time, energy and effort to WUSC because they share our belief in the power of education to change the world. Membership categories - Institutional Members - Canadian universities, community colleges, CEGEPs and other organizations whose focus is post-secondary education. They pay an annual membership fee set by the Board of Directors.
- Local Committee Members - campus-based groups of students, faculty and staff who promote global understanding and cooperation and increase understanding of international development issues on campus and in the community.
- Individual Alumni - includes former overseas volunteers, International Seminar participants, Local Committee members, sponsored refugee students, staff, consultants, Board members and friends of WUSC who make a financial donation to WUSC or pay a membership fee as set by the Board of Directors.
Our members have a say in how WUSC is run. As voting delegates at our Annual Assembly they help set general direction and policy. Members also elect our volunteer Board of Directors and can be nominated to serve as Board members. Why join WUSC? The benefits of becoming a member of WUSC are many. Institutions - access for your students, faculty and staff to WUSC's growing roster of programs and activities on campus and overseas including: Local Committees: Alumni: - Invitations to special events like reunions and receptions
- Opportunities to take action, make your voice heard and connect with others in the campaign to reduce global poverty through Global Citizens for Change, a joint initiative of WUSC and Canada's other volunteer cooperation agencies.
- Voting rights at WUSC's Annual Assembly (up to 25 alumni)
- Eligible to serve on the Board of Directors
