Prince Edward Island

For over 60 years, WUSC has linked Canadian students and professionals across the country to our development projects overseas. Whether through international volunteering, sponsoring refugee students, youth engagement or community involvement, WUSC provides a bridge that allows the global exchange of knowledge and skills.

In the Community

There are many ways for Canadians to get involved with WUSC locally, nationally and internationally.

  • Promoting volunteerism and corporate social responsibility - Through Leave for Change®, professionals and corporations can put their expertise and experience to help WUSC’s overseas partners. The Uniterra program also provides opportunities for professionals to share their skills and knowledge.
  • Fostering global citizenship- We encourage individuals to become more aware of development issues and to put that knowledge into action. From alleviating poverty to fighting HIV and AIDS to promoting fair trade, WUSC believes we can change the world through raising awareness and taking action.

On Campus

Active on more than 80 campuses across the country, we engage with studentsfaculty & staff and institutions. In Prince Edward Island, one institution partners with WUSC to provide opportunities for students, faculty and staff to further their actions on global issues.

  • Promoting volunteerism-  Hands-on learning is the most powerful. WUSC helps students bridge the gap between theory and practice through the programs we offer. Students can join a WUSC Local Committee on campus, volunteer overseas with Students Without Borders® or participate in our annual International Seminar,
  • Welcoming students from abroad- WUSC's flagship Student Refugee Program provides an opportunity for refugee students to pursue their education in Canada and enhances the learning experience of the Canadian students who sponsor them. We also manage scholarships for hundreds of students from the global south to learn in Canada and whose presence enriches Canadian campuses and classrooms.
  • Fostering global citizenship- We encourage students to become more aware of development issues and their own power to put that knowledge into action. From alleviating poverty to fighting HIV and AIDS to promoting fair trade, WUSC believes we can change the world through raising awareness and taking action.
